About us

Sussex Community Foundation is a charity that makes grants to other not-for-profit organisations across Sussex.

We raise funds for and make grants to other local charities and community groups across East and West Sussex and Brighton & Hove and have raised over £46 million to support Sussex communities since 2006.

Connecting our donors to the groups they want to support, we have given grants totalling £22 million to around 2,000 charities and community groups.

We have made a long-term commitment to Sussex and its people and £24 million is in endowment that will benefit Sussex people for years to come.

People look at Sussex as quite well off and comfortable but there are pockets of deprivation. It is in my view a scandal that there are areas in Sussex which are in the bottom 20 per cent of national measures of social deprivation.
